The collections include what you'd expect - weapons, ragdolls, explosives - and several you wouldn't, including epidemic models and electrical spread systems. The unusual categories are what give each setup a narrative texture that most physics sandboxes can't replicate: things don't just explode, they propagate, contaminate, and chain.
Ten Collections That Go Somewhere Unexpected
Conventional physics sandbox games offer weapons and interactive objects. Melon Playground's library starts there and keeps going. Ten collections cover standard tools like weapons and vehicles, ragdoll characters with individual physics reactions, explosive devices, fire and electrical chain systems - and then categories that don't fit typical sandbox design: disease models that spread between ragdolls based on proximity and contact, environmental disasters with their own propagation patterns, and specialty items that interact with the physics world in ways that conventional objects don't. The unusual categories transform what's possible. A plague model affecting a crowd of ragdolls produces a completely different spectacle from a grenade in the same location.
How to Play Melon Playground
Select a starting map from the terrain options - urban environments, open areas, and specialty locations each have different surface properties, built-in objects, and structural elements that affect physics behavior. Browse the ten item collections in the inventory. Drag objects to precise positions on the map. When the configuration is set, activate the physics to process all interactions simultaneously. Chain reactions, spread effects, vehicle physics, and ragdoll responses all run together from the moment you trigger the scene. Reset any time to try a different arrangement.

Why the Map Matters as Much as the Items
The same item arrangement produces different outcomes across different terrain types. Urban maps include structural elements - walls, surfaces, elevated areas - that redirect explosions and block spread patterns differently than open terrain. Elevated positions change vehicle and ragdoll physics under gravity. Certain items interact with water or specific terrain types in ways that flat ground doesn't trigger. Players who understand this start selecting maps deliberately, treating the environment as another configurable variable in the scene rather than just a background aesthetic choice.
The Combination Space Grows With Experience
Players new to Melon Playground test individual collections: what does this weapon do to ragdolls, how does this explosion scale, what happens when the vehicle drives into this structure. Players who've exhausted single-category experimentation move to cross-collection combinations: what happens when electrical spread affects ragdolls that are also under disease propagation conditions simultaneously. The interaction space between all ten collections is large enough that experienced players are still finding novel combinations well into their experimentation. The game's depth isn't contained in any single collection - it lives in how they interact with each other and with the physics engine when triggered together.
